Soak Up the Summer Solstice

Finally, a few extra hours in the day.

Yep, it’s officially summer and the Summer Solstice brings the longest day of the year this Friday, June 21. Make sure to take advantage of the 15 hours of sun by getting outside. Dip your feet in the Truckee, go for a long hike on the Whites Creek Trail at Galena Creek Park or bask in the rays at Sand Harbor!

And don’t forget to stay hydrated while enjoying the additional sunshine. Our skin loses a lot of water in the heat, and it’s important to keep our bodies at a safe temperature. Although it’s recommended that you drink eight 8-ounce servings of water in a day, you may need more than that as you enjoy the outdoors this summer.
